Clogs are great to wear in the garden and slip on and off as you like. Those pictured were found in a second-hand shop, but there are lots of stunning new clogs like them, with heels of varying heights from brands such as Swedish Hasbeens and Moheda.

DIY: It’s such a thrill to have a nice basket for gathering apples or veggies, and even weeding is a pleasure with a pretty basket. Pick up used baskets from recycling stations, antique shops or large second-shops, or perhaps an older relative has a few spare to let you have. To personalise your new basket, paint it with tempera paint in stripes or other motifs.
