Handy girl a la´Mallorca

One day, we received an email asking if we shipped to Mallorca! The message was from Annsofie.
We answered: “Sure, we can do that!”, and that’s how we made our initial contact.

We liked the idea of our work trousers having made it all the way to Mallorca, and asked if Annsofie could take a few shots of herself in the carpenter trousers for our promotions. On seeing her shots, we were intrigued to know who this wonderful woman was, and about her life in Mallorca. She turned out to be a “handy girl” in the literal sense.

Annsofie and her husband live on the sunny island of Mallorca. A life that many of us dream of, which is why we love her instagram profile, tagged @dreambeyondit. Annsofie puts it like this:
“I appreciate the good things in life, and try to take good care of the things that surround me”.

Annsofie has a creative background, and was formerly a buyer for Hennes & Mauritz. She also has experience as a stylist and costume designer for movies and commercials. She started her company Dharmabum with a colleague, where they designed clothes and jewellery they sold in Europe and Thailand. A few years ago, they wound up the business, and since then Annsofie has devoted most of her waking hours to renovating the family’s finca in Mallorca. Finca is a Spanish word meaning “ranch” and refers to a farm estate with its properties and farmhouse. Annsofie also tends the garden and the animals: horses, donkeys, chickens, cats and dogs. Aside from all the practical work, she also has time left for creative pursuits such as oil painting.
Annsofie harvests and sorts lavender too. She fills it in lavender bags made of different pretty fabrics. She also uses the lavender to make an oil that relieves burns and insect stings, and which even stimulates hair growth when applied to the scalp. Lavender also eases agitation and insomnia. How about slipping a lavender bag under your pillow?
Every morning, Annsofie enjoys her daily dose of aloe vera by blending it in a smoothie. She tells us that you can also mix the natural aloe vera gel into a good quality skin-grade oil. That gives you a great skin lotion which is very effective for skin conditions like eczema.

Annsofie tells us about the amazing shots of her harvesting lavender:
“The mountain in the photo is called Randa, and is said to have healing powers. There are three monasteries, and the one perched highest up is called Cura, as in “cure”. Legend has it that the infirm brought to this sanctuary were cured of all ills. In former times, the mountain was inhabited by hermits seeking a peaceful place of contemplation.

“An amazing place with an incredible energy!”, enthuses Annsofie.
